Pakistan's receives first Chess Grand Master Award won by late Mir Sultan Khan

 

A launch event in connection with 'Prime Minister's Initiatives for Promotion of Mind Sports' was held on 2nd February 2024 at the Prime Minister House. Caretaker Prime Minister Mr. Anwar ul Haq Kakar was the Chief Guest. The drive to promote Mind Sports in Pakistan was planned by Mr. Fawad Hasan Fawad, Federal Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination with the aim to encourage such activities at educational institutions across the country. On this occasion, Pakistan received the first Chess Grand Master Award won by late Mir Sultan Khan.

 

The award was be given by the President, International Chess Federation Mr. Arkady Dvorkovich; President Asian Chess Federation His Excellency Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa al Nayhan and Managing Director, International Chess Federation Ms. Dana Reizneice Odola. It was received by the Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Anwar ul Haq Kakar and Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination Mr. Fawad Hasan Fawad.

 

The visiting delegation also called on the President of Pakistan and expressed its support for promotion of Mind Sports in Pakistan.
